Online Interview With Femi Ezekiel

Good evening sir,
I am Ayodeji Olalekan Ayobami, a News Corresponsdent for Stallion TV and a regular anchor of this program; Celebrities’ Corner attached with Business Owner’s Experience.

Welcome to celebrities corner, the segment where we interview celebrities around the world, and we pick each celebrity according to our audience’ choice

Femi Ezekiel: Ok oo, Thank you for having me

So can we meet you sir ?
Femi Ezekiel: I am komolafe Femi Ezekiel, a graduate of industrial Biochemistry at FUTA. I am the program coordinator at Greater love foundation, and the creative Lead at FEMI EZEKIEL photography…

What do you do sir ?

Femi Ezekiel: Over the years my interests have been in leadership, business and the Gospel, but what I’m popularly known for is photography, so I’m a Professional Photographer.

How did you discover your passion for Photography ?

Femi Ezekiel: I love telling stories with images, you can call me a photographer that preserves history for the generation to come.

What type of photography do you do most ?

Femi Ezekiel I love shooting weddings and documentaries, always want to capture moments and candid expressions mixed with story telling and art.

I particularly love to photograph candid moments because moments today are history tomorrow. I believe there is no wedding without a special moment, every moment is special. Once gone, it is impossible to reproduce.

Photographing weddings is a privilege; capturing the day as it unfolds and participating in such a special event is my honour to keep expressing my creative self through photography.

Wow! As a photographer sir, how will you describe your work style ?
Femi Ezekiel : I love shooting raw emotions, tears of joy and real expression.

But how do you plan to shoot those ones sir?

Femi Ezekiel: I do enough client education for my clients, I re-orientate my clients about the importance of moments, Bella najia images is never a standard for right Wedding images, they have to create their own story…for crying out loud people pay 110k as at 2017 for a single post on Bella najia… Mind you, something can be trendy but still gibberish.

I make sure am in the moment, I mean I stay up and there for the next available moments so I can create history for tomorrow. I make sure you believe in my Shooting style or try to convince you about my Shooting style before I take your event to document, So I ask questions like: Have you checked our work port folio?, therefore,if I tell you, we are shooting on you on water, you will actually follow me and believe I know what I’m doing.

How do you best connect with your clients ?

Femi Ezekiel : I try to be their close friends before and after events, so we can have a good relationship

Did you bring your own portfolio ?

Femi Ezekiel: I feel fulfilled when I see emotional displays like sheding tears and the likes during weddings, so I try to form a creative team with same aim of shooting images but with different perspective, because I shoot with the aim of making my images relevant in the next 6 decades.

You’re just too much sir, and I’m hoping you could be my official photographer in the near future.

Femi Ezekiel : lolz, You’re a scammer sir, Thank you

How long have you been a photographer sir ?

Femi Ezekiel: I started over 3 years ago.

Sir, how did you start your photography work, I mean did you learn it or what ? And on what devices did you start with ?

Femi Ezekiel: I love taking pictures so I started that in church programs but there was no time to learn it, so the IT opportunity came which was supposed to be 6months, but I was offered 3 months by the Nigerian breweries plc., so I set to look for a photography studio that will suit my standard then at ibadan. I found one but I did not really have money so I went to the studio, met with the manager and explained my plight so he said even though i’m not paying for the training fee which was around N30,000 then, I have to pay for the form which was N3,000, but here in Nigeria nobody will give you money to learn a trade or start a business you will have to sort it out yourself.

So I started working in a school as a part time teacher, I was getting money from my salary pending the time I will finish my IT. I did everything to make money.

I later made YouTube my friend, go there to watch some videos but the fact is I didn’t have a camera to practise them, so I teamed up with my senior at work who had a camera. I will go and borrow camera when there is a program in church, I shoot like I won’t shoot again 😁😁😁, edit them and all, so I was like how long will I continue living like this? Then in January 2016, I returned to school, then I was in 500Level, and I felt the best place to start a business is campus, but I had no camera so I sold my system, borrowed from my project money, bought the camera, registered the brand name and it started.

So how best did you connect with your clients ?

Femi Ezekiel: You know Social media is one of our friends and means of marketing that is really the only added advantage I had then because I didn’t have a studio, I didn’t have an office. I could remember i got my first wedding in Sept 2016 in Ekiti and this one got me another wedding in Surulere Lagos in which I got twice the money I made from the first wedding and this second job got me another job, which the client is from US. He saw my pictures online, and loved it, so that is one of the advantages of social media for the 21st century entrepreneur although that’s not the only way. People who know your size won’t know your brand weight, they won’t know if you have an office, they will just judge you by what they saw online, so they will be like: let’s try him.

How many weddings have you been able to capture since you began till now ?

Femi Ezekiel: I have captured over 65 weddings to the glory of God.

Whose photography work has influenced you most ?

Femi Ezekiel: Alakija studio, Joshua Dwain, Two mans studio, Akintayo Timi , Bernard kalu, Jop studio, Mide photography

These names are too much for me sir. Assuming it’s your wedding day, who among this list would you trust to handle the photography work ?

Femi Ezekiel: Don’t let me say something is not possible sir, but If I could have my way, I’ll go for Alakija Studio.

Wow! at last I caught you at that corner, lolz.
What is the most challenging part about of a photographer for you?

Femi Ezekiel: Getting gadgets and knowing how to price well, i.e knowing how to get the right value for your services is a great challenge

Do you welcome apprentices ?

Femi Ezekiel: yeah sure, I’ve trained 7 people in the last 3 years, and our office is open to any serious minded person who wish to train under us.

Wow!, everything about you is great , Why do people call you Techno sir ? Because some of our viewers called Femi Techno, but I don’t understand, can you please tell us about the origin of Tecno ?

Femi Ezekiel: Alright, that was my nickname. Tecno was my nickname for campus leadership, I mean campus politics. I actually had a shirt I used to play ball at our hostel then and it became obvious, so people kept calling me Tecno. I later used the name for a political agenda then and it worked. I won as the hall chairman of MKO Abiola hall, of FUTA.

Oh, so your shirt gave you the nick indirectly?

Femi Ezekiel: Yeah

But sir, how do you handle stressful situations ? Like going for lectures then and standing behind the camera and so on ?

Femi Ezekiel: I started photography in my final year, and final year is final year, you can’t actually add to your CGPA, you know what you’re gradating with already so it’s nothing so serious. It’s not as if it was so easy like I said it was nothing serious o, but through God’s help and discipline as well, I was able to scale through.

Wow, everything is all about God, but we heard about a program you convened twice, which last year own didn’t hold and no traces of it this year too , is it not due to the stress you encounter at your photography work sir ? I mean Dokimos

Femi Ezekiel: oh that’s not true, we did it thrice not twice , we have never stop for once and last year’s own which happened to be the third was held too, , it’s not about work stress, this is God’s work while photography is a core course. So people should watch out for Dokimos 2019 because it’ll be coming very powerfully, we’re working towards it, by putting all things needed in places to make it more better and best.

Maybe there is no better publicity for it last year and that’s why people didn’t know it was held

Femi Ezekiel: yeah, I think so.

Tell us about your best photography work sir ?

Femi Ezekiel: actually I don’t have any best photography work for now sir, maybe my next work will be my best.

😂😂😂 you this people Sha, you’ll Sha escape from someone’s question.
Have you ever made a mistake at any event, like missed a great photo opportunity ?

Femi Ezekiel: that’s normal now, it’s bound to happen

So how do you feel, when you missed such opportunity sir?

Femi Ezekiel: I felt bad when I missed such great photo opportunities, so I tried all possible best not to miss such next time.

We’re going to the end gradually sir, How do you stay patients with difficult clients sir ?

Femi Ezekiel: The point is that there is a part in the scriptures that’s says, “A man who is diligent in his work will stand before kings and not mere men”. So am picking the word “diligent”, the point is no matter how stubborn or difficult you’re I will use all my possible method to manage you, it’s just about the client you’re working with though

What are your career goals ?

Femi Ezekiel: To create more leading brand in photography, because leaders create more leaders nor more followers, to have a brand that will be evoke for centuries and as a photographer I see my self as a federal government worker, I have retired plans, so also I’m looking forward to a time whereby I’ll be able to transfer the ownership of this photography brand to someone else while the name will still be retain, because I can’t do it forever, as I’ll be leaving this earth one day, so trying the possible best to still be relevant on earth even when I’m no more.

What’s your advice for our viewers who are upcoming professional photographer too?

Femi Ezekiel: Yeah as for me there is no upcoming photographers, we’re all photographers, even those who’re pros are still learning, I will just advice them to keep learning, to be consistent and create a good business network for yourself always, just make sure you’re better than yesterday in terms of network that’s just it

OK sir, we really appreciate your patience with us sir, even with your tight schedules.

Thanks for honoring us
We believe next time we call you for another interview at our station, you’ll still honor us.

Business Talk

Good morning to everyone here at stallion TV🙇🏻.
I want to welcome everyone to today’s session of Business talk. My name is Ogunsola Moses and I will be your facilitator as regarding today’s session of Business talk, am so glad to be here this morning with my fellow stallions.
I will also like to appreciate the management of this great initiative for the rare privilege of giving me the opportunity to share some tips with us this morning…thank you very much ,may God continue to establish you.

🏹Now let’s move to the business of the day.
The topic I have before me here is a broad topic; The title is PERSONAL BRANDING. It is very important in the life of every entrepreneur and career individuals out there.
It’s so painful😥 that nowadays a lot of entrepreneur tends to narrow down the definition of Branding to logo and e-flier alone😁
Entrepreneurs of nowadays only focuses on Branding their Businesses without first branding their self which is one of the reasons why 75.5% of startups fail in their first five years of running Business. Anyways it’s not their fault…they are only yet to get the effective knowledge of Branding😁.
To me🙇🏻, I see personal branding as that only aspect of business that gives you the opportunity to direct your positioning in the market, shape how people perceive you, and reflect your business ethics .

🏹 This definition leads us to the three arms of personal Branding;

Positioning

Perception

reflection
🏹 Positioning : Hope we all know that of one the ways by which we can have good sales and nice income in our various markets is positioning? Positioning is a very crucial aspect of market and it can only be done in the way you brand yourself and your business.
If people can’t see or hear about your business definitely, you are still lacking in the aspect of positioning of your market😥.
The aspect of positioning is just like a man selling iphones and iphones gadgets that do not have an instagram page, how is he planning to survive in this technology age? Definitely 80% of people using iphone are on instagram and all of them are not even staying around your vicinity…

positioning demands that you look for an avenue or system that will make your buyers see you effectively.
The way you position your business both online and offline will determine your level of sales…🙇🏻

_if people can’t see you, they can’t buy what you are selling .

M.O
_
🏹 Perception : Another importance of personal branding is that it shapes how people perceive you. This aspect pains me a lot anytime I see upcoming entrepreneurs nowadays. You are an entrepreneur, but anytime people see you outside there or view your whatsapp status, the only thing they see is a musician, because most times your outfit is not different from that of a musician and the only thing you upload on your whatsapp status is music videos…people will surely narrow your brand down to a musician.😃
Now let’s assume everyone here at stallion TV own a business😃, the next question is;

which brand are we building🤔?

Most people thinks branding is all about logo and wearing branded clothes and shoes of your business up and down…yea that’s true…but do you really know that’s not all you need to brand your business? Those ones are just part of the ingredients you need to make your brand effective.

Branding of your business starts from you yourself!🙇🏻
The last importance of personal branding I will be discussing is that it reveals your business ethics effectively, thereby making you standout amidst your competitors in business…

Let me share this story with us:😁….it’s an experience I so much cherish.. because I gained a lot from it…😁
was in a youth empowerment program last month, at the end of the program, the convener gave everybody an open check to advertise their business for 5min…people rushed out for the opportunity but the most disappointing part of the event was that; a lady came out to also advertise her business, she is a fashion designer…you know what? Her elevator pitch was superb; unfortunately she was wearing an arsenal jersey and one blue jean like that. As she was delivering the elevator pitch, the pitch was combating with her outfit because she was telling the audience the importance of Nigerian made wears so as to receive the business fund but unfortunately she wasn’t putting on a Nigerian made clothes she was wearing a jersey.
There is nothing bad in her putting on a jersey but that is not the required outfit for that kind of occasion. I now realized that; so branding is not all about logo? 😃It’s not even about how competent you are in your area of business🤣… Why will you call yourself a fashion designer and you are still proud to wear ready-made product rather than wearing your hand-made products to occasions .which brand are you building?…you call yourself a shoemaker and the only foot gears you wear to occasion is Nike air max..which empire are you building FRIEND?….you even spoil your brand to the extent that you wear Nike slippers on agbada….how do you expect people to buy what you yourself can’t wear…🙆‍♂
why do most people think its only social media that can advertise there brand…most times all you need to do is to attend some programs related to your field then network…meet great MINDS AND NETWORK..Show your business identity to people and let them work with you…
Also, the way you talk and how you dress outside really matters in the brand you are building. As a business individual, you don’t dress to occasions anyhow, you don’t just talk in occasions anyhow, and you don’t just enter other people’s matter anyhow. You have to comport yourself outside anytime.

🏹Remember, the better the owner of a business presents himself/herself to consumers, the higher the chances are of securing loyal customers.

Patronize yourself everywhere you go. It not necessary you post your logo everywhere on social media rather use that logo to network…I do say it your brand is your no.1 ambassador and your brand goes a long way in determining how far you connect to people….

Your copywriting skills also matters, as an entrepreneur you should learn certain principles guiding contents creations…your contents should reflect your brand..

This part of the topic is much…how I wish I can dish it all out…but time is not on my side…
I will like to end on this note that; it’s not all social media platforms that your business must reflect in…Rather choose the one that will make people see and perceive you easily…and focus on it…

Although what you are selling is important but, the way you brand what you are selling is importanter…
Your brand is one of the greatest catalysts that your networking deserves…your brand is an instrument that will provide fillip to your networking and sales.
Thank you very much…do have a nice week ahead.

I remain my humble self

Co-Founder/CEO SCEPTRAL BRAND.

Ibadan Resident Begs Governor Makinde To Provide Adequate Security

Provide Adequate Security Or Restore NURTW – Ibadan Resident Begs Governor Makinde

In the past months, the people of Oyo State state has been going through unpalatable experience due to the decline in security of lives and properties in the state as people have continued to attribute the decline with the proscription of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

For some days now residents and shop owners in Ore meji , Idi – Obi, Agugu, ilupeju etc in Ibadan metropolis were unable to sleep with their two eyes closed and heads on pillow as it has continued to witness attack from unscrupulous miscreants and hoodlums.

These areas has been recently tormented by gun men, motorcycle snatching from Okada men and vowed to kill them if they argue, robs shops and the likes.

Mr Ola, one of the victims, who sells phone accessories and phone charging points around Idi – Obi said that on 29th September 2019 around 8pm – 9pm, some men in black, just came to his workshop firing guns to the air and told him to corporate with them or else he would be killed.

Immediately they started packing all phones and batteries meant for his numerous customers as they also went away with cash and snatched an okada from a commercial motorcyclist man to escaped.

We also gathered information that a week before Mr Ola’s incident, a shop was robbed, but since it was the first time such would be happening it gained low attention from residents.

Such incident also occurred few weeks ago around Ore – Meji, some gun men also snatched a motorcycle from an Okada rider which resulted to the killing of his passanger.

Most recently, on Sunday 6th October, 2019, at about 10mins to 9 in the evening around Ilupeju off Idi – Obi road, a man popularly known as Aare was reportedly attacked by unknown gunmen, snatched his motorcycle and shot at him and later died on their way to UCH Ibadan.

From my investigation, many people have started blaming the government on NURTW proscription without providing any other jobs.

So the people, are trying to make life worth living by any means, and this have turned them to become gunmen, robbing shops and snatching of motorcycles in the metropolis.

Dear Governor Seyi Makinde I beseeched you to hear the cry of your people, who elected you into office.

Sowore spends night in jail despite fulfiling bail conditions

The Nigerian government is yet to release the detained publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, despite receiving an affidavit of compliance to the court order directing his release on Wednesday morning.

Marshal Abubakar, a lawyer with the Chambers of Mr Sowore’s lead counsel, Femi Falana told PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday night that they left the office of Nigeria’s State Security Service at 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday without Mr Sowore.

This was despite the court order which had instructed an immediate release of the respondent.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how Mr Sowore’s lawyers submitted documents indicating full compliance to the order for Mr Sowore’s release at the SSS office where it was received by an official, Ayuba Adam, at 10.08 a.m on Wednesday.

Following the account of Mr Abubakar who deposed to the affidavit of the compliance, Mr Sowore’s lawyers left the SSS office over 12 hours after fulfilling their end of the September 24 decision of the court, without the SSS doing the same.

Mr Abubakar said the SSS officials asked them to return on Thursday to “discuss with the SSS DG,” Yusuf Bichi.

Story

The Federal High Court on Tuesday had ordered the immediate release of Mr Sowore who was arrested on August 3 for planning a revolutionary protest, the #RevolutionNow.

The protest was held in parts of the country amidst clampdown of the protesters by security forces.

On September 20, the government filed seven count charges against Mr Sowore accusing him of alleged treasonable felony, fraud and cyberstalking among others.

After withdrawing an application for Mr Sowore’s bail on Tuesday, the prosecution lawyer, G. A. Agbadua, asked the court to determine whether “in the interest of national security,” Mr Sowore should be granted freedom or not.

The Nigerian government under President Muhammadu Buhari had been condemned for its treatment of Mr Sowore and its disregard to court orders by many, including Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka.

Mr Soyinka had reacted to reports about Mr Sowore’s charges, saying the Buhari administration had “reached an unprecedented level of paranoia” .

Several orders for the release of a former National Security Adviser, Samba Dasuki, who was arrested in 2015 have not been complied with.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko, recently said he will not tolerate disregard for court judgments.

The Kano State Government, on Friday, dismissed as false, allegations that it is planning to depose the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

[9/26, 11:58 AM] TropicReporter: The next element in a news story is the nut grafe. This comes after the lede, but does not necessarily follow it. The nut grafe tells the readers the who, what, what, when, and why of the story. It tells the reader what the story is about and why they should care about it. The nut grafe is comparable to a thesis statement in an academic paper.
[9/26, 12:00 PM] TropicReporter: After the lede and the nut grafe comes the crucial information of the story, i.e., what the story is about. This is followed by non-crucial information , e.g., background information, where to find more information, or reactions to the story.
[9/26, 12:01 PM] TropicReporter: Finally, the conclusion of a new story does more than remind the reader of the story’s substance.

It also looks ahead to the future. For example, if a story focuses on an important city council meeting, the conclusion might inform the reader about follow-up meetings or about what any decisions made by the council might mean for the city.

But the basic job of a reporter remains news gathering and filling the reporter or “copy” to the News desk.
[9/26, 12:34 PM] TropicReporter: To be a good reporter or good sub-editor what one needs is common sense and Command over language.

These two requirements in fact summarize the qualities of newsman should have as other qualities flow from these two and the basic Human values.
[9/26, 12:35 PM] TropicReporter: News sense: It is the basic quality of news man.
